Having enough income has always been a central focus of human existence.
And rightfully so - we exchange our labor to receive our salary and then we spend it for goods and services. But Jesus shocked His listeners in "The Sermon on the Mount" by exhorting them not to worry about money. Why would He say that? Because God's economic system and man's are totally different. Instead of worrying about the future, we should look to God for His provision. God uses money for the primary purpose of strengthening our faith and our relationship with Him - enabling us to see Him as the source of provision for all our needs.
The Sermon on the Amount is Dr. David Jeremiah's exposition on the central principle of God's economic plan: the giving of the tithe in the Old Testament and a tithe-plus in the New. As we give to God by faith, God promises a bountiful return so that we channel His blessings to a worried and troubled world.
